At Maxwell Social Club in Tribeca, we gathered for a Death Tea Party.

 

A tea blend dreamed up for Cafe Mortel by Dream Tea, with perfumes by Inverso Profumi to summon ghosts of memory.

 

Cakes. Tea. Life. Death. Served in porcelain.

 

One of the evening’s questions lingered longest: What plant would you become when you die?

The answers were quietly beautiful — from oak trees that offer shade, to sunflowers that turn toward the light, to wild herbs that keep growing long after they’re forgotten.
